Chaska is the Carver County seat, and the county's Environmental Center sits in town at 116 Peavey Circle. Open since 2002, it is the year-round destination for household hazardous waste, electronics, appliances, and other items curbside carts will not take, with fees posted per item. Rural drop-off sites in Cologne, Mayer, and Norwood Young America cover everyday recyclables for the rest of the county.
The center at 116 Peavey Circle in Chaska is open Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. It is closed Sunday through Tuesday.
