Yes, RecycleFind covers recycling centers across all 50 states. Our database includes thousands of recycling facilities, from large municipal centers to specialized recycling locations for specific materials.
We strive to maintain the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. Our data is regularly updated through partnerships with recycling centers, municipal waste departments, and user feedback. However, we recommend contacting a facility directly to confirm their current hours, accepted materials, and any special requirements before visiting.
Yes, RecycleFind is completely free for users. Our goal is to promote recycling and sustainability by making information about recycling centers easily accessible to everyone.
Recycling Centers
You can find recycling centers near you by using our search function at the top of the homepage. Enter your city, state, or zip code to see a list of nearby recycling facilities. You can also browse by state and then by city to find recycling centers in specific locations.
For each recycling center, we provide the name, address, contact information, hours of operation (when available), materials accepted, user reviews, and an interactive map showing the location. Some listings also include photos and special notes about the facility.
On each recycling center's detail page, you'll find a 'Get Directions' link that will open Google Maps with the location pre-loaded. This makes it easy to navigate to the facility from your current location.
We appreciate your help in keeping our information accurate. If you notice incorrect information about a recycling center, please contact us at recyclefindusa@gmail.com with the name of the center and the correct information. We'll update our database as quickly as possible.
Materials & Recycling
Common recyclable materials include paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum cans, steel cans, plastic containers (types 1-7), electronics, batteries, light bulbs, textiles, and yard waste. However, accepted materials vary by recycling center, so always check what a specific facility accepts before visiting.
Generally, items should be clean, dry, and free of food residue. Rinse containers, remove lids when required, flatten cardboard boxes, and separate different materials. Some centers have specific preparation requirements, so check their guidelines or contact them directly for instructions.
Plastic recyclability depends on the type (identified by the number inside the recycling symbol) and your local recycling program. Most centers accept types 1 (PET) and 2 (HDPE), which include water bottles and milk jugs. Types 3-7 are less commonly accepted. Check with your local recycling center for specific guidelines.
Yes, many electronics can be recycled, but they typically require special handling and cannot go in regular recycling bins. Use our search function to find e-waste recycling centers near you that accept items like computers, phones, TVs, and other electronic devices.
Batteries should never go in regular recycling bins as they can cause fires and release toxic chemicals. Many hardware stores, electronic retailers, and specialized recycling centers accept batteries for proper recycling. Use our directory to find locations that specifically accept battery recycling.
Using the Website
You can search for specific materials by entering the material type (e.g., 'electronics', 'batteries', 'plastic') along with your location in the search bar. This will help you find recycling centers that specifically accept those materials.
Currently, we don't have a feature to save favorite recycling centers, but we're working on implementing this functionality in the future. For now, you can bookmark the pages of recycling centers you frequently visit in your web browser.
We don't currently have a dedicated mobile app, but our website is fully responsive and works well on mobile devices. You can access all features through your mobile browser for on-the-go recycling information.
We welcome contributions! If you know of a recycling center that isn't in our database, or if you have updated information about an existing listing, please contact us at recyclefindusa@gmail.com. Your input helps keep our information accurate and comprehensive.
