Plymouth Recycling Drop-off

14900 23rd Ave N Plymouth MN 55447 USA

The Plymouth Recycling Drop-Off Site, located next to the Plymouth Maintenance Facility at 14900 23rd Avenue North, is exclusively for Plymouth residents and small businesses. It accepts recyclable materials only, with trash, carpet, furniture, and bulky items being prohibited. Residents can also drop off organics at this site, which is open daily. Additionally, residents can recycle unused winter deicing salt and holiday lights at designated bins at the facility. The site does not accept water softener salt, pellets, or other types of salt. For used oil disposal, there is a free 24-hour drop-off site for used motor oil, antifreeze, and oil filters at the Plymouth Maintenance Facility. The site provides 24-hour access, and East Side Oil Company handles the reprocessing of the used oil. Businesses in the area must comply with recycling laws, and apartment buildings and condominiums with more than eight units are required to provide on-site recycling services. The City of Plymouth contracts with Republic Services for curbside recycling services, with recycling fees included in the city utility bill. Residents can contact Republic Services for recycling cart requests, replacements, missed pick-ups, and general inquiries. Residents must choose and set up their own garbage service with a licensed hauler, and haulers providing waste disposal services must have a license approved by the City Council. For organics recycling, households and businesses can drop off organics at the Hennepin County Recycling Center and Transfer Station in Brooklyn Park. Organics must be in BPI-certified compostable bags, with a limit of five bags per person per day. Businesses must self-haul recycling, and there is no material redemption service at the facility. Organic waste reduction and composting are encouraged to help reach waste diversion goals. Visitors can explore options for organic waste reduction and composting on the website. For unique or hazardous item disposal, visitors can find information on where to bring items such as plastic bags, electronics, household hazardous waste, and other household items for recycling and disposal.
