SMSC Organics Recycling Facility

Welcome to the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility, owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC). This facility focuses on being a good steward of the earth by recycling organic materials such as paper, food, and yard waste from residential, commercial, and municipal customers. They craft a nutrient-rich, natural fertilizer for gardening, farming, landscaping, and more, as well as process wood for mulch. Their Dakotah Roots products, available for retail and wholesale, include compost and compost blends. Visitors can also learn about their Household Organics Recycling Program and take advantage of services like Spring Yard Waste Drop-Off, where drop-offs are free for the month of May. Additionally, there are ongoing promotions such as the Mulch Makeover Giveaway and discounts during International Compost Awareness Week. Customers can also earn a free drop-off after making four paid drop-offs by asking for a punch card.
