Large businesses are advised to establish collection services for HHW and E-waste through designated providers listed in the Contra Costa County Reuse and Recycling Guide. Free HHW and e-waste pickup services are available for seniors and persons with disabilities through the mobile collection program. Additionally, expired medications and sharps can be disposed of for free at the HHW Facility. Residents can also request a free oil change kit from Republic Services for used motor oil and filters. Businesses in Richmond can rent drop boxes for separated green waste, wood, cardboard, and metal from Republic Services for a reduced charge. Both facilities have specific operating hours and require items to be dropped off in enclosed vehicles with proof of residency.
