The Randall Street S.A.F.E. Center is one of the City of Los Angeles's permanent Solvents/Automotive/Flammables/Electronics (S.A.F.E.) Centers, located at 11025 Randall Street in Sun Valley and serving the East Valley area. It is a free drop-off site where Los Angeles City and County residents can dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste, including paints, solvents, used motor oil, batteries, aerosol cans, compressed gas cylinders, cleaning and pool chemicals, sharps, and e-waste like TVs, computers, and cell phones. The center is open 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, with a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per visit. Small businesses can dispose of hazardous waste here for a fee through the separate VSQG program, which requires an appointment and an EPA ID number.

I came here on a Saturday morning to drop off old lightbulbs. I thought it would be a pain but it was surprisingly pleasant. It was a drive thru and the workers were all in a good mood and very friendly. I will be coming back here to drop off my medical waste (old needles) as well.

I’m happy there’s a place to drop off these types of recyclable items. Bulbs batteries TVs monitors. And a bunch of difference small electronic items.

What are the hours?
The Randall Street S.A.F.E. Center is open 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Collection may be suspended during rainy weather, and the center is closed on certain holidays.
Who can use the center and is there a fee?
Drop-off is free for Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County residents. There is a transportation limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per visit. Small businesses must use the separate VSQG program, which is by appointment only and charged a fee.
What is not accepted?
The center does not take EV batteries, acetylene/CO2/oxygen tanks, ammunition and explosives, radioactive materials, medical or laboratory waste, appliances like fans, heaters, air conditioners and vacuums, or ordinary recyclables and yard waste, which go in your Blue or Green Bin.
