Jackson Pike Transfer Station, located at 2566 Jackson Pike in Columbus, OH 43223, is a waste disposal facility servicing the City of Columbus and commercial waste haulers. Residents are not allowed to use the transfer station due to safety concerns, and only haulers with a credit agreement can dispose of waste there. Special waste is not accepted at the transfer station and must be taken to the landfill. All loads must be fully tarped before entering any SWACO disposal facility, and customers must wear a safety vest if they exit their vehicles at the landfill. The disposal rate is $51.75 per ton with a $5 minimum charge, and the facility operates Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The Clark County Solid Waste District runs six public recycling drop-off stations around Springfield and the county, with its West Recycling Station on West Main Street next to the district office. The West lot stays open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, and the other stations stay open during daylight hours. Each station has one bin for paperboard and cardboard and another for cans, glass, plastic, and paper, loaded loose and never in bags.
