About this center

The Alum Creek Waste and Reuse Convenience Center is a City of Columbus drive-up, self-service drop-off site at 2100 Alum Creek Drive for recovering recyclables and hard-to-recycle materials. Columbus residents can drop off recycling, electronics, food scraps, yard waste, clothing, furniture, bicycles, scrap metal and appliances, used cooking oil, polystyrene, and household trash free of charge. The center is open to Columbus residents only for materials from their own homes and does not accept commercial or landscaping waste. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday and on observed holidays.

Who can use the Alum Creek Waste and Reuse Convenience Center?

The center is open only to Columbus residents for materials generated at their own residences. It is not available to commercial businesses or landscape companies.

What are the hours?

Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. It is also closed on observed holidays that fall Tuesday through Saturday and on Tuesdays following Monday holidays.

Is there a fee to drop off materials?

No. The drive-up, self-service center accepts materials free of charge to Columbus residents.

What materials can I bring?

Recyclables (paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, metal cans, cartons), electronics, food scraps, yard waste, clothing, furniture, bicycles, scrap metal and appliances, used cooking oil, polystyrene, bulk waste, and household trash. Refrigerated appliances, construction debris, tires, auto parts and hazardous materials are not accepted.

This place was amazing watching that video and seeing that guy (criminal) throw those tires just broke my heart. I’m so glad he was caught and hopefully he does his time in jail. This place was fantastic and I enjoyed throwing my trash away. Thank you Julie so much for helping me.
