How to Recycle Nickel-Metal Hydride Batteries (NiMH)
Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries, written NiMH or Ni-MH, used in digital cameras, cordless phones, rechargeable AA and AAA packs, hybrid-car battery packs, and many toys and tools. NiMH cells contain no cadmium but still need recycling rather than trash disposal so the nickel can be recovered.
Quick answer
Yes. Nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries are recyclable and should not go in the trash, since they contain recoverable nickel. Tape the terminals and drop them in a Call2Recycle box or a hardware or electronics store rechargeable-battery bin, where NiMH cells are accepted free.
