New Mexico Recycling Coalition
About This Center
The New Mexico Recycling Coalition offers expert training and networking opportunities for recyclers in the state, providing continuing education units (CEUs) that can be used for recertification as a recycling, compost, transfer station, or landfill-certified operator. Certified operators are required to earn 24 hours of CEU credits within three years. The trainings, which include tours and hands-on activities, are open to everyone, not just certified operators. In 2025, the coalition will host four recycling and compost facility operator courses, including a Recycling Facility Operator Certification Course in March in Santa Fe and December in Albuquerque, as well as a Compost Facility Operator Certification Course in May in Albuquerque and October in Santa Fe. The New Mexico Recycling Coalition aims to advocate for recycling and create a sustainable environment where discarded materials are valued and managed as resources. They work with various stakeholders to build efficient recycling programs and have been leading New Mexico in recycling efforts since 1991.
