BottleDrop Redemption Center - Portland

If you have the green bags it is a quick and easy process. There is usually no weight in line. If you tend to go and process the cans yourself you're more than likely going to have to wait I would recommend showing up. The staff who worked there are amazing and nice.

The other locations I've been to you're able to just walk in with your recycling and wait in line inside for the next available machine this location made people stand outside in pouring rain with no cover before they were allowed inside straight to a machine. I didn't even get out of my car to wait in line I just sat for about 10 minutes waiting to see if it'd change. It never did. Shame on them 🤬

I do not feel safe dropping off my blue bags at this location. There are several homeless people hanging around the front with no sign of security . I was asked for my bottles and cans by them. I declined and said they were for charity and when I opened the BottleDrop door - one of them grabbed the handle and held it. I had to pull it away from him to close the door - so he would not try to retrieve the donations from the bag drop off. It happened with two other women who came up behind me and I could tell they also felt very uncomfortable and intimidated. The whole outside was littered with garbage. BottleDrop needs to increase their security so people can feel safe recycling. This system is not working!
