The City of Helena Transfer Station on North Benton Avenue is the city's main solid-waste site, handling residential and commercial garbage disposal along with a full recycling operation. Garbage is charged by weight, while household recycling is free for City of Helena and Scratch Gravel residents who bring it in with their solid waste permit. Cash customers can recycle too, with a $6 minimum charge.
