About this center

The City of San Antonio operates four Bulky Waste Collection Centers where residential customers can drop off items too large for regular curbside collection. Accepted materials include furniture, mattresses, large appliances, water heaters, AC units, car tires (6 or fewer, no rims), carpeting, and up to one cubic yard of construction material. Residents must show a recent CPS Energy bill and a photo ID; visits are free for customers who pay the City's environmental fee. Locations include Bitters (1800 Wurzbach Parkway), Frio City Road (1531 Frio City Road), Culebra (7030 Culebra Road), and Rigsby Road (2755 Rigsby Road).

Who can use the Bulky Waste Collection Centers?

The centers are for City of San Antonio residential customers only. You must bring a recent CPS Energy bill and a photo ID. Materials from commercial waste haulers are not accepted.

Is there a fee to drop off?

If you pay the City's environmental fee (shown on your CPS Energy bill), your collection visit is free.

What are the hours?

Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Are there limits on how much I can bring?

Yes. Bulky items are limited to four cubic yards and construction debris to one cubic yard. Loads in trucks must not be over the fender wheel of the truck bed. No household trash is accepted.

Just want to clarify for people who say "just bring your CPS bill and id"..you need to have the environmental fee on the CPS bill. Not everyone is paying that.

Im glad this went smoothly the staff were nice to me. How it works: Pull into the center parking lot and either go to the first line for Bulky items or second line for Waste. You drive up to a staff member then present your printed CPS bill. Also tell them what you brought to dump. After that you have to reverse into the covered parking slots and unload your OWN stuff (so be sure you’re able to do it alone or with a buddy). Then you drive off. I‘m not sure why I was nervous by some of the reviews … but it went smoothly for me (just be friendly and know the staff are out in the heat all day so be kind).
