Binford Auto Wrecking grew out of Binford Metals, the scrap business David Binford bought in 1993 and moved to "Junkyard Row" on 78th Avenue South in Kent. The auto parts side began in 2004 and took its current name in 2017, when Binford bought neighboring AAA Auto Wrecking; Budget Auto Wrecking followed in 2019. The yard replaced its gravel lot with concrete and racks newer parts cars off the ground. Hundreds of cars and trucks sit in inventory that updates daily and is searchable online. Repair shops and backyard mechanics buy parts here, and customers pull their own parts with their own tools and pay on the way out. Binford pays cash for cars and trucks in any condition and runs a separate catalytic converter buying desk. The sister scrap metal yard takes aluminum through zinc from the public and commercial accounts six days a week.
