Wright County Compost & Recycling Facility

The Wright County Compost Recycling Facility located at 505 Co Rd 37 NE will be closed for renovations starting April 18th, 2025, with limited operations resuming on April 29th, 2025, at a temporary location at 5538 85th St. NW, Maple Lake. During this transition, services such as accepting tires, scrap metal, appliances, electronics, batteries, styrofoam, TVs, and large quantities of cardboard will be unavailable. Accepted items at the temporary location will include household hazardous waste, curbside recycling, sharps, and small amounts of yard waste. Large quantities of cardboard will not be accepted due to limited space. The facility is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 am to 5 pm, and the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 8 am to noon for drop-off of various recyclables. Customers are required to unload themselves, and all items must be clean and free of food debris. The facility does not accept plastic bags, food waste, or styrofoam packaging. Appointments are no longer necessary, and a fee schedule is available for reference. Only yard waste and brush from homeowners are accepted, with waste from contractors or businesses not being allowed. Household hazardous waste items accepted include acids, adhesives, aerosol cans, automobile fluids, cleaners, paints, varnishes, and more. Recyclables accepted include aluminum cans, tin cans, glass containers, plastic, and more. There is a fee for disposal of certain items, and all fluids must be in containers of 5 gallons or less.
