The Muskegon County Solid Waste Management System (Landfill) provides disposal services for municipal solid waste, demolition debris, and other materials, excluding hazardous waste. Residents from Muskegon, Ottawa, Oceana, Newaygo, and Lake counties can access the residential transfer station to dispose of unwanted goods. Only residents with working 4-wheel drive vehicles and hydraulic dump trailers (no tilt trailers) are allowed to dump within the active landfill cell with the necessary personal protective equipment. The landfill does not accept waste from locations other than the specified counties. Visitors can refer to the Material Management Plan NOI Document for more details on waste management.
