Recycling centers in Kellogg

The Shoshone County Solid Waste Department operates a full-service transfer station at 52619 Silver Valley Road in Kellogg, Idaho, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except on major holidays. They accept household garbage, commercial garbage, construction waste, inert materials, and various recyclables like newspapers, magazines, car batteries, cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, appliances, scrap metal, and more. They also handle wood waste, used motor oil, and have a rural collection site in Murray, ID. The facility processes refrigerators and air conditioners to remove CFCs, oil, and compressors before disposal. Additionally, they have a composting operation for grass clippings and leaves, and a separate site for inert materials like concrete and brick. The department has implemented a Solid Waste Window Sticker Program for customer identification and access to the waste system, with specific guidelines on covered waste types and additional charges for certain materials. The program issues windshield stickers annually, with the option to purchase extras, and replacements are available for a fee. The stickers must be displayed on the lower left corner of the windshield. The department is also seeking proposals from recycling contractors for its waste management recycling program.
