Alachua County's Rural Collection Centers (RCCs) are regional facilities serving residents for recycling, solid waste, yard trash, bulk items, and household hazardous waste disposal. These centers do not accept commercially generated waste and are staffed by Solid Waste and Resource Recovery employees. Accepted items include cardboard, paper, commingled containers, garbage, yard waste, bulk metals, and household hazardous waste like oil filters and old paint. There is a reuse area for gently used items, and each visitor is limited to one level truck bed per day. The RCCs operate from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, as well as on specific holidays.
