The Gunnison County Recycling Center, located at 195 Basin Park Drive, offers recycling services to citizens and visitors. The center accepts aluminum cans, alkaline batteries (drop-off at Gunnison Post Office), corrugated cardboard (no waxed cardboard allowed), glass bottles (brown, green, and clear), magazines, newspapers, office paper, plastics (number 1 and 2, rinsed), and tin cans (remove labels and rinse). Unacceptable items include Styrofoam, packing peanuts, and paper, as well as certain liquids like acrylics, anti-freeze, brake fluid, diesel fuel, and more. The center is open 24/7 for drop-offs, with staff available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
