Everybody getting stuck because I don't know how to keep a good landfill! This place is ridiculous. Avoided at all cost. Find another one that's run better!! Bulldozer operators are very rude and yell at people all day!

The people in the gate house are very nice. The dirt road is long but very well maintained. It appears to be run very professionally. Good resource for Ada County......but My contention is the minimum load pricing is so ridiculous. It's simply a rip off. I just left the landfill. I recycled clean cardboard and a steel filing cabinet that is a valuable recycling item. I was charged $15 + a $2 convenience fee. (the cardboard is free if that's all you've got.) So I paid $17 to recycle 15 lbs of steel. Not cool. Last week I paid $17 to throw away a very small amount of trash (two trash bags) along with a big load of cardboard... This price structure will discourage people from disposing of items responsibly. Recycling of valuable items (worth recycling) should always be free as an incentive to do just that. Many places pay you to recycle your steel for well established reasons. The bigger issue- For Ada County persons who are not contractors with big dump trailers who simply want to bring one odd item to the landfill like a mattress or a baby crib this pricing isn't fair in the least. The minimum pricing needs adjustment! You get charged the same for one trash bag of trash as you do for 900 lbs of garbage.......come on.... If you are bringing in big loads the pricing per ton ($32 a ton) is certainly fair. For someone like myself I usually get good value from this weight/ price structure.. but this is about serving all the persons of Ada County fairly and promoting responsible disposal behavior.
