Acme Iron and Metal has been recycling scrap metal in New Mexico since 1956. A family owned business with more than 100 employees, Acme operates several full-service metal recycling locations across the state, including its main Albuquerque facility, and pays cash for scrap brought in. The yard accepts ferrous materials such as heavy melt, busheling, plate and structural steel, cast iron, turnings, automobile bodies (title with no liens required), electric motors, tin, and appliances, along with non-ferrous materials including aluminum, beverage cans, sheet aluminum, extrusions, wheels, clean wire, copper, copper wire and tubing, insulated copper wire, brass, stainless steel and nickel alloys, lead, and batteries. Acme also offers pickup, roll-off containers, and demolition services, and can arrange can drives for organizations. The business states it is licensed and in compliance with state and federal ferrous and non-ferrous metal regulations.
