Thurston County Recycling Center
About This Center
The Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center (WARC) in Washington offers various recycling services but has suspended its used cooking oil and plastic foam recycling programs due to new guidelines and legislation. Residents are advised to solidify used cooking oil before disposal and are directed to the Household Hazardous Waste page for more information. The WARC is also exploring the development of a new transfer station in the southern part of the county to replace existing drop-box sites. Visitors are encouraged to check the average traffic levels at the WARC to plan their visit efficiently and are reminded to secure their loads according to Washington state law. For specific curbside waste collection services, residents are directed to contact the appropriate service provider based on their area of residence.

Susan Houser (5/5 stars, 4 years ago): This was my first time at the Olympia recycling located at the Hawks Prarie Landfill. The employees were very informative and helped me save a lot of money. I was going to deposit ten large boxes of out of date computer data into the large bins for regular garbage. A nice lady told me I could recycle it all for no charge. I can't even guess what dumping it by weight would have cost me.
