This was my first time at the Olympia recycling located at the Hawks Prarie Landfill. The employees were very informative and helped me save a lot of money. I was going to deposit ten large boxes of out of date computer data into the large bins for regular garbage. A nice lady told me I could recycle it all for no charge. I can't even guess what dumping it by weight would have cost me.

Is recycling free?

Yes, if materials are clean, dry, and separated by type: plastics, aluminum and tin cans, mixed paper, flattened cardboard, and glass bottles and jars.

Can I recycle cooking oil or foam?

No. Used cooking oil collection at HazoHouse is suspended. Plastic foam recycling ended February 28, 2023. Solidify cooking oil before placing it in household garbage.
