Recology hasn’t gotten back to me about a special pickup so I brought the items to the store. The lady there was rude and condescending - she seemed disgusted that I brought used motor oil into her “posh recycling boutique” (it was packaged to Recology instructions). Told me the oil filter is just garbage (it’s a pound of recyclable steel packaged to their instructions). Lectured me about the batteries being a fire hazard because each terminal wasn’t taped but she’d let it slide this time. Wouldn’t take my sandwich bag of bottle lids (Ridwell does so I gave it a shot) and wouldn’t throw them away for me either. At this point I’m feeling like a crackhead in a pawn shop so I let her know “hey I came here because you’re not getting back to me about pickup can you at least help me with that?” Nope. I have to leave and call a customer service line. I didn’t bother asking about the empty motor oil bottles I had cleaned up and boxed for them - I just took everything I had brought in and now I’m back to square zero trying to get recology to provide the services I pay them through the nose for. If she had just been a little nicer about it I could have shrugged it all off.

However 3 weeks ago I purchased an item and when I got home I discovered it was defective. I attempted to exchange it within the 14 day period but they were closed due to snow. When I came in today the sales associate said she needed a managers approval and that I would need to return to the store next week to seek their approval on an $8 exchange! She didn’t even offer to take my phone number or do any other problem solving. Overall her demeanor was very indifferent and wasn’t very friendly. So I made my final purchase and don’t plan to return. If you’re trying to be a conscious consumer I recommend you consider an alternative before going out of your way to visit this store. Especially if you are looking for high quality products to last you a long time.

Recology has no way of being held accountable even the managers will not call you back. The neighborhood has taken to disposing of their waste in this bin and has left the lid open. Now it has filled with water. Recology has aided in the creation of a public health issue. Very unprofessional I am tempted to start hauling my waste away like others in the neighborhood i wonder if they will collect my bin if I cancel services.
