Davis Landfill

The Davis Landfill and administrative offices are located at 1997 East 3500 North in Layton. The landfill features a new lined cell constructed in 1998 to meet Federal Standards under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act RCRA Subtitle D, with an engineered bottom liner and leachate collection system. The landfill accepts all large items except vehicles and large tires, with a small load flat fee charged to District residents for loads weighing 10,000 pounds or less. The landfill also offers a citizen drop-off facility completed in June 2006, providing a clean, safe location for self-haul customers to drop off waste without entering the landfill cell. Recycling opportunities are available at the citizen drop-off facility. Additionally, the landfill has a landfill gas to energy facility that compresses and ships landfill gas to generate electricity, reducing air pollution. The landfill operates with summer hours from 7am-6pm, Monday through Saturday, and winter hours from 7am-5pm, Monday through Saturday.
