About This Center

The Davis Landfill and administrative offices are located at 1997 East 3500 North in Layton. The landfill features a new lined cell constructed in 1998 to meet Federal Standards under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act RCRA Subtitle D, with an engineered bottom liner and leachate collection system. The landfill accepts all large items except vehicles and large tires, with a small load flat fee charged to District residents for loads weighing 10,000 pounds or less. The landfill also offers a citizen drop-off facility completed in June 2006, providing a clean, safe location for self-haul customers to drop off waste without entering the landfill cell. Recycling opportunities are available at the citizen drop-off facility. Additionally, the landfill has a landfill gas to energy facility that compresses and ships landfill gas to generate electricity, reducing air pollution. The landfill operates with summer hours from 7am-6pm, Monday through Saturday, and winter hours from 7am-5pm, Monday through Saturday. Visitors can take a virtual tour of the landfill and learn about day-to-day operations, frequently asked questions, and the material recovery and transfer facility.

W T (5/5 stars, 2 weeks ago): I picked up some compost that looked really really good. One scoop was 25$ and weighed about 1600 pounds. Both of the weight guards were cool. The equipment operator did a great job dumping the compost in my little trailer. They seemed to have a lot of batch and mulch in stock.

Blake Garrett (1/5 stars, 2 months ago): You guys need to have a training on what is the definition of a secure load. Especially to your new staff members. Do you guys really think a tarp and a bungee cord and some rope is going to Secure 800 to 1800 pound logs 🪵 ? In the photos provided this is textbook definition of a Secure load with chain binders and 3/8 chain securing the load. For reference look up 49 CFR 393.106 under UDOT Also Utah code section 27-7-409 As a fellow business owner that comes to your facility regularly I expect better training to your employees So I don’t get charged an extra $10 for your cheap tarps That will not secure a load. Take a look again at the Utah State tarp law and I don’t see anywhere that it states that you guys can enforce And charge for that.

Trey Cragun (1/5 stars, 3 months ago): Highway robbery happening here. I had 4 large items that were strapped down and secured in the bed of my truck. And they charged me for an uncover load. No sense of logic and very unimpressed.
