The Wyandotte Recycling Center, located at 1170 Grove Street in Wyandotte, offers recycling services to residents only, requiring ID for drop-off. The center does not accept pizza boxes and requests that plastic bags inside cereal boxes be removed before recycling. Accepted items include newspaper, office paper, glass bottles and jars (clear only), plastic bottles (#1-#7, no plastic bags), steel and aluminum cans, magazines, catalogs, corrugated cardboard, used motor oil, used antifreeze, and yard waste such as grass clippings and leaves (not to be put out with regular trash). The center operates under summer and winter hours, with extended hours in November, and is closed on holidays and when other city offices are closed. Visitors are advised to consult on-site staff or contact the center for any questions regarding accepted items. Additionally, electronics recycling is available at the Riverview Center, accepting only computer-related equipment as of December 1, 2014.
