It takes ferrous and non-ferrous metal from Macomb County businesses, municipalities, schools, and the general public: cast iron, sheet iron, structural steel, heavy melt, borings and turnings, aluminum, brass, copper, insulated wire, electric motors, catalytic converters, and computer equipment such as towers, hard drives, motherboards, and servers. Customers drive onto a state-certified scale loaded, unload in a paved yard, and weigh out empty. Non-ferrous metals go across a separate scale, and an ATM sits on site for cash. Michigan law imposes a seven day wait on non-ferrous metals, including copper alloy. Contractors rent containers from 10 to 100 cubic yards, including liveload open-top boxes.
