USA Waste & Recycling has provided waste hauling and recycling service since 1974, covering Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, and Westchester County, New York. The Winchester operation offers residential curbside trash and single-stream recycling pickup, commercial collection, dumpster rentals, food waste recycling, and construction and demolition debris handling. Single-stream recycling accepts metal cans, plastic bottles and tubs, glass jars, and paper and cardboard mixed in one bin, with sorting handled at the company's material recovery facility. An online "Can I Recycle It?" tool helps residents find disposal options for items that don't belong in the bin, such as paint, electronics, and household hazardous waste.

What can I put in my single-stream recycling bin?
Accepted items include metal cans and bottles, aluminum foil, plastic bottles and tubs, glass food and beverage jars, cardboard, cartons, newspaper, office paper, pizza boxes, and take-out food containers. All items should be empty, rinsed, and clean. Do not shred, box, bag, or bundle recyclables, and do not include plastic bags.
What is single-stream recycling?
Instead of sorting recyclables into separate bins, customers drop accepted paper, plastic, metal, and glass together into one recycling bin. USA's crew collects it from the curb and the sorting is done at their material recovery facility.
