About this center
Recyco runs two Tucson drive-thru yards on 22nd Street. This east yard is at 5851 E. 22nd Street, and the west yard is at 650 E. 22nd Street. Sellers stay in the vehicle while staff unload. Loads must arrive sorted. Mixed material is bought at a lower grade or refused, and the yard does not separate it.
The east yard buys beverage cans kept apart from other aluminum, copper and insulated wire, number 1 plastic bottles, stainless, brass, radiators, and electric motors. Stripped wire is limited to industrial accounts. Steel and appliances are west-yard only. Pots, pans, siding, bare rims, lead, laptops, phones, circuit boards, and hard drives have no cash payout. Printers, copiers, non-number-1 plastics, monitors, televisions, cardboard, paper, glass, catalytic converters, vehicles, and microwaves are refused. Weekdays run 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday to noon, and Sunday is closed.

This place does a wonderful job with your recycling and is one of my favorite places in town to exchange them with. It's been a few years since I could use them and I went while on the brink of homelessness and it helped my little one and I a great deal to have a few dollars for things since I've never gotten cash aid or anything like that. Sometimes just getting that last little bit of recycling to them is like searching the couch cushions for change for gas to get you through until next month. With all this fake "inflation" in the local economy we could use every cent we can as people with little to no income. Will always do what I can to use this place.
