This site, LRI Purdy Transfer, serves as a transfer station for both commercial and household waste, offering rates available on their Rates page. Located in Gig Harbor, WA, the facility also houses the Pierce County composting facility, producing high-quality compost known as P.R.E.P. (Pierce County Recycled Earth Products). Visitors are advised to un-tarp their load before crossing the scales, turn off cell phones, keep children and pets in vehicles, refrain from smoking, watch for moving vehicles, and follow staff directions for safety. Unloading time is limited to 30 minutes maximum. The facility operates from 9 AM to 4:45 PM daily, with special holiday closures for Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving Day. Services include waste processing, transfer stations, green waste processing, and composting.

Winnie Wai Yuen Lam (5/5 stars, 4 years ago): First time here! Had a bunch of big cardboard to dump. Easy place to find but didn't know where to go dump the cardboard. Went thru the weighing station and the lady explained where I needed to go. Bunch of big containers to toss in the cardboard yourself. Very good experience!

Teach me Know (1/5 stars, 7 years ago): My wife arrived at the Pierce County recycling today 07/05/17 at 4:45 and was told they are closed to all people except those who are in the facility already. The website says they close at 5:00. They need to either stand by their posted hours or change the online site to state more clearly the hours of operation. All she needed was to drop some cardboard into the proper dumpster.
