About This Center

The City Recycle Center in New Braunfels provides curbside residential recycling collection for single-family and some smaller multifamily dwellings. Residents in apartments and condominiums can drop off recyclables at the center. Accepted items include clean containers, flattened cardboard, and shredded paper in a paper bag. Items should not be bagged but left loose in the cart, and no trash, Styrofoam, or plastic bags are allowed. Carts must be placed 5 feet away from obstacles with the lid completely closed, and positioned with the wheels and handle facing the home. Carts can be placed out after 8 p.m. the night before collection day or before 6:30 a.m. on the day of collection. Plastic bags, plastic film, and shrink wrap are not recyclable through curbside service or at the center, and should be taken to local retailers for recycling. The center also accepts white plastic foam marked with the 6 code, and provides mattress disposal services at Bulky Goods Drop-Off events or through curbside bulk pick up services.

Loftin Adventures (5/5 stars, 9 months ago): If you want to take brush or tree limbs call ahead. They accept them up until they are at capacity then stop to have it all mulched. You can ever free mulch here also. I took a truck load of tree limbs it cost $10 to drop them off. I only do this during burn bans or dry times of the year since I can’t burn them in my small burn pit. It’s quick and easy and since it’s a fixed rate you can load up as much as you want and make one trip.

Robert Clark (1/5 stars, 5 months ago): Should really tell residents that items must be sorted before arrival or the workers simply toss the unaccepted items into your car. After reading other reviews I must’ve gone when those friendly service folks were on vacation. NBTX should really consider placing containers in a lot and let folks drop off their own (like many places in TN and MS do). Then these friendly folks can sort and toss to their hearts content. And we pay for this “service”. If I could give negative stars I would. But I’m giving 5 stars to see if anyone catches it.

Lisa Halverson (5/5 stars, 3 months ago): We just moved here and needed a place to take all of our boxes paper and Styrofoam from the packers. You just need to sort out what you have and break down the boxes. You don't even have to get out of the car. They also hand out bags to fill up for yard waste. It has been very helpful and the guys are very nice and polite.
