Only one sorting machine open it smelled was filthy the hand sanitizer provided at the cashout desk was really watery and smelly. Not even sure if it was hand sanitizer. There was a razor in the parking lot and you have to pay to recycle certain things- see photo. I went there two times in October when google said they were open but they had a “sorry we’re closed” sign which was a waste of my time. Also I saw a rusty razor blade in the parking lot.

Collecting trash is a dirty business but if you're prepared when you go it's quick & easy. Otherwise stay home in your clean house away from the crowds and throw your bottles & cans in your recycle bin. 1st time I went I didn't know what to expect so there was a little learning about what to do but it's obvious esp if some folks are ahead of you. Eyes open. I go every 3mos or so & have been for a year & a half. At home sort your bottle & cans separately as you collect them. Keep your glass bottle boxes to take the glass ones back in. When you arrive find one of the big platform bins to help get tour stuff to the door if you have more than 2 bags. Be patient they go as fast as they can. Be polite get your reciept cash out & go about your day. It's just recycling.

Especially a lot of local breweries who sell their beer in CT grocery stores and package stores. Such as FOC. Also what’s up with charging to take ones that are 2L? For a facility on the State of CT website…they really should take anything with a CTRV stamped on it. If we’re forced to pay the tax on it we should be entitled to get the refund if we ‘recycle’ it especially at a state-listed facility. Threw over half of my redeemables in the dumpster. Didn’t want them back after going through their nasty facility. I’ll stick to my usual places and take the extra drive.
