I was able after several hours and a few frustrating times reliving my frustration the regional Manager Tom bent over backward to try to make things right. By doing this they improved my experience and both sides won in the end. To be clear I was authorized a higher price on some other recycling whichever ended up being a bit over what I had spent on gas during the entire fiasco. I still haven't had a chance to travel back to Minneapolis during banking hours to cash the other check I should have never had to take but at least I am not out 100% on this experience. So with all that being said my experience went from a 1 star to a 3-3.5 star due to the fact I still had the horrible experience that will frustrated me for weeks. Thanks again to every employee not working at Scrappy's location. You all took the brunt of the accountability and for that I am grateful. This might just be a little high for this place. The only reason to take an hour lunch is for the extra cash from recycling demo items etc in my opinion. Yesterday I drove with a friend from St. Paul specifically to their location so I could get paid in cash. Before even starting to empty my truck and trailer I asked again if they paid in cash and had cash to pay me then once we came to an agreement on how much. So I spent the time to unload the recycling I had accumulated over the past few months and agreed to a $155.75 cash payment. Great then I go to get paid where the rude disgusting lady behind the counter acted like it was my fault they gave me bad information.... Fine that made it a 3 star visit now I have to either mobile bank the check or find a place to cash it. I tried Walmart which takes like 30-45 more minutes and they decline the check with a phone number to call to ask why... Another hour on the phone with someone who clearly struggles with the English language advises me that it isn't me it's the account holder who wrote the check... Great my time has zero value to these people clearly. I call them and tell them calmly that this happened after being lied to by their employees and her reply was to not only blame me yet again but to tell me to take another trip out to NE Minneapolis from the Eastside of St. Paul to cash the check at their bank. How is this not fraud??? They advertise that they pay cash but wait until they have your recycling unloaded and gone to tell you their "ATM IS BROKE" weird.... If my business advertised that it paid in cash we would have more than 1 ATM and it would never be a time where both were down. A very shady business and I am going to do my best to never use them again. Attorney General Ellison should really investigate these people. This is just a little too convenient and I don't trust conveniences. There is something very wrong with not being able to find another alternative to this shady company.

Patrick D McNulty (1/5 stars, 6 months ago): Up until recently the staff at EMR Northern Metal Recycling welcomed walk-ins for people who don't have a vehicle or can't drive anymore. Now due to a "company policy" walk-ins are no longer allowed! I'll take my business elsewhere or better yet I won't pick up any aluminum cans.
