About This Center
The Ellington Airport Clear Lake Neighborhood Recycling Center in Houston, TX is an unstaffed facility open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It accepts recyclables at no additional charge for City of Houston residents and is funded by various organizations. The center accepts items like ad inserts, aerosol cans, aluminum cans, cardboard, glass bottles, magazines, newspapers, and certain plastics (1-5 and 7). Items like toys, packing materials, flower pots, Styrofoam, plastic furniture, junk waste, tree waste, and garbage are not accepted. Residents can drop off electronics for recycling once a month on the 2nd Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Masks are required, and contactless unloading is encouraged. For other materials like junk waste or tree waste, residents are directed to SWMD Neighborhood Depositories Recycling Centers or their curbside service schedule. Additional recycling drop-off locations are available throughout Houston, and proper disposal of materials is emphasized for a healthy environment.

Andie Price (5/5 stars, 4 years ago): So happy I found out about this recycling center. It is very convenient and clean. No one is working. You sort everything yourself and keep items loose. I wish they had plastic labels for those who don’t know what type of plastic they may have. Glass is seperated by brown clear and colored. Paper and newspaper. Aluminum and cans. Then corrugated boxes and 1-5 and 7 plastics are taken. It was kind of relaxing putting the glass in and listening to it break. Also there is a nice sunset there. Jets and planes will be flying over :) please properly sort your recyclables as best you can and thanks for recycling!

Evelyn Gonzalez (5/5 stars, 2 years ago): I'm so happy I found this place !! A lot of bins for the cardboard the only thing is they are kinda full so I took a bit of time looking for some space in the bin. But anyway I'm so thankful for this recycling space 💖✨
