About This Center

Eagle Rock Convenience Center, Don Reservoir Convenience Center, and Montessa Park Convenience Center are three public trash drop-off locations in Albuquerque managed by the Solid Waste Management Department. The centers operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Vehicles must arrive before 4:30 p.m. to be admitted. Prohibited items include hazardous waste, medical waste, ammunition, and firearms, among others. Each vehicle is limited to under two tons, and trailers up to 40 feet combined length are accepted. Specific item limits apply, such as two appliances with refrigerant intact at Eagle Rock and Montessa Park, and only one appliance at Don Reservoir. Mattresses, pallets, railroad ties, tires, and construction debris have quantity restrictions. Exceeding these limits requires disposal at Cerro Colorado Landfill. A disposal fee of $5.25 per load is charged for excess trash, yard waste, and large items, with additional fees for unsecured loads. The centers do not accept recyclables, and Montessa Park operates five days a week. Visitors are advised to check the guidelines and restrictions before dropping off materials.

Richard Wheatley (1/5 stars, a week ago): By far the worst of all the dumps run by the city. They hardly accept any kind of trash. If you have carpet it needs to be cut up to less than 3x3. If you have food they can’t accept that much food. I bet within a few weeks you’ll have to clean your trash before bringing it to the don reservoir.

Claudia Martinez Solis (1/5 stars, a year ago): I had a problem in this location we were forced to throw all the garbage inside the dumpster when it was already full if that's why they have the machine to crush it and throw all the garbage that falls out of the dumpster then one of the gentlemen stopped in front of the truck so that the truck could not move it a little forward that is not correct and then they told us that if we did not want to throw it there that we went to another location and they had already charged us the garbage they should tell us from the beginning that we can not throw it there that it was full we understand or they will let us know that they will return our money back these is not the first time that happen to us and is with the same old gentleman im very very disappointed.

Wilfred did not hesitate for a second to get the bobcat and move the bin so I could retrieve them.. this is what EXCELLENT costumer service looks like!!! Thank you Wilfred!!!
