About this center

The Cobbs Recycling Center is a City of Waco self-service drop-off facility at 4201 Trice Ave, open Monday through Saturday, accepting materials from residents throughout the region with no residency requirement for most streams. The center accepts plastics (#1 and #2), glass bottles and food jars, steel and aluminum cans, cardboard, magazines, mail, cooking oil, household batteries, CFL bulbs, packing Styrofoam, and electronics (computers, cell phones, chargers). Waco residents with a current utility bill also receive free drop-off of used motor oil, antifreeze, oil filters, and latex paint, plus four free bulky and brush waste trips per year. Tires are accepted for a fee.

What are the hours and location?

Cobbs Recycling Center is at 4201 Trice Ave, Waco, TX 76710, open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bulky and brush bays close at 4:45 p.m. each day.

Do I have to be a Waco resident to use it?

Anyone can drop off the standard household recyclables at no charge. Resident-only services such as used motor oil, latex paint, and bulky/brush waste require a copy of your Waco water bill (within 30 days of its due date) and a photo ID whose address matches the service address.

Are there fees for any items?

Most drop-offs are free. Appliances containing Freon can have refrigerant removed for $15 each. Tires must be off the rim and 20" or smaller: $3.50 each for 15" or smaller and $6.00 each for 20" or smaller. Fees are not collected on-site but added to your next utility bill.

We moved from Austin where recycling is a way of life to a rural town where there is no recycling. We collect all our recycling and drive an hour to Cobb; and they are always friendly helpful with unloading and there’s plenty of room to park and maneuver around to deposit your recycling!

This was my first visit bringing my recyclables into Waco. -The Gentlemen working here were are an absolute God Sent. -All of the Gentlemen helped me and ensured that my various recyclables (glass #2 plastics cardboard) were placed in their proper areas bins. -And when I asked them for advice on what's not allowed to be brought such as plastics NOT rated a #2 they told me... -I left some home rated 1 5 & 7. -Thank you good Sirs for your Knowledge and your Help. May You and Your Family's be Forever Blessed Always.
