Albertville-Boaz Recycling Center located at 311 Sand Mountain Drive SW in Albertville, AL 35950, offers recycling services for various materials including newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office paper, shredded paper, hardback books, phone books, plastic bags, aluminum cans, metal food cans, specific types of plastics (#2 & #5 heavy hard plastics, #1 PET, #2 HDPE, #5 PP), cardboard, household cardboard, oil containers (free of oil), glass (clear, green, brown), and white Styrofoam (packing type only). They also accept fluorescent bulbs for a charge of $0.45 each. However, they do not accept certain items like tissue paper, napkins, paper towels, mirrors, ceramic household items, light bulbs (only fluorescent), batteries, clothing, furniture, dead animals, and items with food, personal products, or household garbage. Additionally, they no longer accept #6 plastics or any plastic items without a recycling number. The center does not take TVs or computer monitors but does accept electronics such as laptops, computer towers, keyboards, hard drives, printers, fax machines, and cell phones. Curbside collection starts at 6:30 a.m., and visitors are advised to have their bags out on the designated pick-up day.
