Koscove Metal is now a fourth-generation family business, with Joe Koscove as sole owner since 2003. The yard on West Colorado Avenue recycles all metals, ferrous and nonferrous, and staff help unload and sort loads. It also takes used and new lead acid batteries, most e-waste, and cardboard, and sells ammo boxes and shell brass for reloading by appointment. Commercial accounts get a free on-site consultation, a roll-off container from 10 to 40 cubic yards, a pickup schedule, and payment weekly, monthly, or per load. A larger commercial yard on West Cucharras Street handles bigger volume, and a sister store called The Cove resells salvaged goods.

Electronics Recycling in Colorado Springs: FAQ

Is electronics recycling free in Colorado Springs, CO?

Computers, phones, and small electronics are often free to drop off. TVs and CRT monitors frequently carry a fee because the glass and plastic cost money to process. Check the listing for fees.

Should I wipe my devices first?

Yes. Back up and factory-reset phones, tablets, and computers before drop-off. Some recyclers offer certified data destruction for hard drives, which the listing will mention.

Can I put electronics in my curbside bin?

No. Electronics contain batteries and metals that cause fires and contamination in curbside sorting, and many states ban them from the trash.
