El Paso County Household Hazardous Waste Facility - Recycling Center in Colorado Springs, CO

I never feel welcomed here even though I smile & say "have a nice day " no response. I don't see why they are still acting like it is COVID days. They can't even help unload my car with some heavy items. This is my 3rd visit within a year and a half always the same. Do they really need 3 people when I do all the work. I am a woman and a little courtesy goes a long way. They could take a class from the Good Will employees.

Dropped off two 1-gallon bags of old batteries. Was in and out very quickly!

I scheduled an appointment online for recycling because I had a load too large for my curbside pickup. When I showed up the signage was confusing. Follow the signage for hazardous waste even if you're just recycling regular materials. When you turn into the parking lot go to the gated area on the right (south side of the parking lot). Then take the first left to go through a covered area. Here I gave the attendant my last name to confirm my appointment. Then I drove to the dumpsters on the right where I quickly and easily unloaded on my recycling. All the dumpsters are the same for comingled recycling so sorting is not required. Please read their instructions for what is acceptable. They don't take any plastic (maybe too much wishcycling) and they seem to be picky about the paper too. I'll be back later to recycle some electronics but it's too bad they don't take electronics at the same time as a regular recycling. Overall this is a great service for the county
