Town Recycling opened in 2012. Founder Victor Lara has worked in recycling for more than 25 years. In Albuquerque the company buys cardboard (OCC), paper, plastic, and metals, then bales the material and ships it to mills. A baler on site packs hundreds of tons a day. Cardboard is the main grade. Paper is bought in bulk, in bales, in bags, and as office shreddings. Plastic bottles and water jugs are bought too. Metals have no stated limit on variety or quantity. Named examples are aluminum cans, copper, brass, radiators, steel, and wire in electrical, data, and copper grades. Spanish is spoken.
