Valley Recycling, located in Kalispell, Montana, is a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) that focuses on preserving the Flathead Valley's natural beauty by diverting recyclable materials from the Flathead County Solid Waste Facility. With a 29-year commitment to sustainability, they have successfully reduced landfill-bound waste by 7.5 million pounds annually through partnerships with Evergreen Disposal and community involvement. In 2021 and 2022, they processed over 15.8 million pounds of recycling materials. Operating an industrial baler five days a week, nine hours a day, Valley Recycling compacts cardboard, paper, plastics, and aluminum cans for shipping. They are dedicated to ongoing research to find new recycling opportunities and reduce waste going to the County Landfill. Excellent place to recycle your milk jugs and plastic bottles. Also cardboard and mixed paper like newspapers and food boxes. They don't pay for aluminum but I recycle it here anyway because much of what they do is not for profit and it's a little way to give back.

They are the only place in Flathead Valley that recycles 1 & 2 plastics! That's fantastic considering the state of health our planet is in due to pollution. I understand the cost of aluminum cans because this is a business that needs to make a profit so they are still able to help to continue to recycle!

I wish they accepted more types of plastic but I'm grateful that they're here at all. Be sure to be aware of (and follow) the rules and the instructions on the signs or they might not be able to keep providing the service.
