Garden City Compost
About This Center
The Garden City Compost facility in Missoula, Montana, offers residents the opportunity to drop off yard waste and purchase various compost products year-round. The facility, previously known as EKO Compost, was acquired by the City of Missoula in November 2016, leading to investments in new equipment and composting processes to ensure high-quality products and better odor control. Visitors can drop off wood waste, chipped material, sawdust, and other materials for varying fees, with specific guidelines on what is not accepted, such as greases, garbage, glass, and certain construction debris. The facility also sells products like Class A Compost, Lawn Topdress, Enriched Topsoil, and Premium Perlite Potting Soil, with discounts available for bulk purchases. For those interested in setting up a business account, a credit application can be submitted to the Garden City Compost Wastewater Division. Directions to the facility are provided, and seasonal hours vary from March to November and December to February. The facility is managed by Jason Duffin, and visitors are encouraged to secure their loads for safety on the road.

Equipment is functioning and making compost - not breaking down every other day when EKO had it. Looks better organized and if a facility that makes "good dirt" can be considered clean that it is!
