The City of El Paso Curbside Recycling Program

The City of El Paso offers a Curbside Recycling Program for residents to easily reduce waste and help the environment by collecting recyclables every other week on the regular garbage collection day. Residents are instructed to place their blue bin next to the gray bin with a five-foot spacing between objects, ensuring proper direction. If the recycling bin is not collected by 3:00 PM, residents can call a provided number for an update. Recyclables should be rinsed and free of food residue, not bagged, and electronic waste should be taken to a Citizen Collection Station as it is not accepted in the blue bin. The program does not accept glass or plastic bags. Accepted recyclables include paper items like newspapers, office paper, magazines, and cardboard, as well as plastics labeled 1 and 2, and aluminum/tin cans. Not recyclable items include bagged recyclables, textiles, yard waste, food/liquids, glass, plastic bags, styrofoam, and tanglers like wires and electronics.
