Citizen Collection Station - Eastside
About This Center
El Paso residents can utilize the Citizen Collection Stations to dispose of trash, household hazardous waste, and bulky items at five public drop-off locations in the city. These stations also serve as additional drop-off sites for recyclables to complement the city's curbside recycling program. The stations do not accept construction and demolition materials, including household and commercial waste. There is a limit of 5 gallons per month for paint and motor oil disposal. The operating hours are from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, but may vary due to weather events like wind, rain, or snow. The stations are closed on New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Visitors can request a Citizen Collection Site (CCS) Pass for access.

Eric Willard (1/5 stars, 3 months ago): I went this afternoon to the eastside station Saturday January 4th at 3:30 pm. The line was all the way back to Castner. I pulled in behind the last citizen and moved up slowly for the next 30 minutes. I was about seven vehicles from the entrance at 4 pm when employees closed the gates and informed us no more. I drove up and spoke to an employee pointing out that I had been in line for 30 minutes and asked why the City neither informed us that getting there on time was not sufficient but that we need to be inside the gate nor having an employee come out and advise the citizens that only a certain number of vehicles in the line would likely make it inside before 4 pm. The employee told me to call 212-6000 to complain. I did on the way back to the house. The message was to call back during regular hours 8 am till 4 pm Monday to Thursday. No message machine was available to leave a message. El Pasoans have huge water bills and garbage collection rates. Most of us work eight hour days at least five days a week. Any commercial business would have considered the customer waiting in line to get service before the closing time to be on time and the customer would have been served. This governmental unit should do the same especially with how high the City’s rates are. Considering garbage collection is modified for holidays with NO reimbursement for what citizens pay this governmental unit doesn’t warrant even a one star rating but even that possibility is NOT permitted by the review form provided for citizens to comment on your service. Please make these adjustments to your service. Eric.
