The Wright-Patterson AFB Recycling Center serves the Air Force base community, collecting recyclables through roughly 300 labeled dumpsters placed around base for paper, cardboard, toner and metal. Staff sort and bale paper and cardboard, shred documents containing official or personal data, and process metals including copper, brass, aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium. The center is owned and overseen by the 88th Civil Engineer Group and staffed by the 88th Force Support Squadron. Plastics were discontinued in 2020, and precious metals are not accepted.
