Compost bins are available for purchase at a discounted price of $60 each, promoting home composting to reduce landfill waste and improve soil quality. A limited quantity of bins can be picked up on May 1 and May 2. Volunteers are sought for the Spring Litter Clean-up Event on April 26, 2025, across Clermont County. Vouchers are offered for free disposal of certain household hazardous wastes like herbicides and pesticides. Outdoor recycling containers can be borrowed for large public events, and junk disposal events are scheduled by various townships in Clermont County. The Hefty ReNew Orange Bag Program facilitates recycling of hard-to-recycle plastics and Styrofoam. Additionally, the Ohio Department of Transportation has launched the "No More Litter, Ohio" campaign. Public recycling drop-off sites have specific hours and locations, with one recently relocated from Epiphany United Methodist Church back to Miami Township north Fire Station 27, and another temporarily moved from the Fire Station to 6785 Goshen Rd.

Adams County Waste & Recycling

95 Trefz Rd West Union OH 45693 USA

AWAR (Adams County Waste and Recycling) is a waste transfer station located at 95 Trefz Road in West Union, funded by the Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District and operated by Adams Brown Recycling. The transfer station is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, closed on Wednesdays, Sundays, government holidays, and Good Friday. Trash disposal costs 8 cents per pound, while tire disposal, on or off rim, is 12 cents per pound and only accepted during the first full week of each month. Scrap steel disposal is free, but Freon-bearing items require a $10 fee. Hazardous waste, paint, oil fluids, or barrels are not accepted unless prepared properly. Aluminum cans can be sold to AWAR, and other materials like aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, lead-acid batteries are accepted on specific days. The Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District provides 18 recycling drop-off locations throughout Adams County, accepting materials like flattened cardboard, mixed paper, aluminum cans, steel cans, and plastic bottles. Glass is accepted at most locations except for specific ones.
