Alpena Recycling Center, operated by the Northeast Michigan Materials Management Authority, offers recycling services to businesses and non-residents in Alpena County. Business memberships can be purchased for $360 for in-county businesses and $540 for out-of-county businesses, while out-of-county residents can buy a permit for $60. The center no longer accepts household garbage, boats, or hot tubs, directing individuals to the MOA Landfill in Atlanta.
