The South County Community Collection Center is a Hillsborough County solid waste facility at 13000 US Highway 41 in Gibsonton, serving residents across the south end of the county, including Gibsonton, Ruskin, Apollo Beach, Sun City Center, and Wimauma. It works as both a transfer station and a residential drop-off, taking bulky waste, appliances, electronics, paint, batteries, tires, scrap metal, yard waste, and wood. Household hazardous waste is collected on the second Saturday of each month, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The center also has recycling drop-off, a mulch pick-up, and a Cooking Oil Recycling Effort (CORE) drop-off. It is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Residents should bring a photo ID and current tax assessment showing payment of the waste fee to use certain services without an added charge.
