The Branford Transfer Station, located at 747 East Main St., Branford, CT, offers a variety of recycling and waste disposal services. Accepted items include appliances with Freon (doors must be removed), standard household appliances, books, chippable yard waste (up to 8 feet in length and 1 ton limit), construction debris (up to 1 ton), corrugated cardboard, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, household garbage, glass bottles, metal food cans, paper products, rigid plastics, textiles, tires (limit of 4 passenger tires), used motor oil (up to 5 gallons), and white office paper. Items not accepted include asbestos, car batteries, construction debris over 1 ton, grass clippings, latex or oil-based paints, pesticides, plastic film, propane tanks, and large tree sections. The Transfer Station operates Monday to Friday from 7:15 AM to 1:30 PM and Saturday from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM, with office hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM on weekdays.
