Spokane County Regional Solid Waste Valley Transfer Station

The Spokane County Regional Solid Waste System provides self-haul disposal locations for trash, recycling, and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off at three different sites: The Spokane County North Transfer Station, The Spokane County Valley Transfer Station, and The City of Spokane's Waste to Energy Facility. The North and Valley Transfer Stations operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, with HHW collection available only on weekends. Accepted materials include household garbage, construction debris, tree trunks, prescription drugs, mattresses, tires (cut into two-foot pieces), animal carcasses under 35 lbs, and more. There are specific guidelines for HHW disposal, including a 5-gallon limit per material type per day and restrictions on commercial materials, unidentified items, and compromised containers. The facilities also accept latex and oil-based paint, with a 15-gallon limit per visit. Visitors are advised to separate recyclable items and follow specific instructions for paint disposal.
